Choose audio and text separately
A Korean film can have Korean audio and English subtitles. An English menu does not prove either track is selected. Open the viewing edition’s language menu and look for both Audio and Subtitles. Closed captions can also include sound descriptions, which may be useful even when you understand the spoken language.
When English subtitles are missing
Check the exact movie and edition first. A different country, service or release can carry different tracks. Try another listed subtitle language to see whether the player displays any text, then return to the language you need. This separates a missing track from a display problem without changing unrelated browser settings.
When the words drift
If a fixed delay affects every line, use a subtitle-delay control when the player offers one. If the mismatch grows as the movie continues, the text may belong to another cut or frame rate. Compare the running time. Repeatedly shifting an incompatible track rarely solves the whole film.
Make text comfortable
On supported players, increase text size slightly and add an opaque or shaded background. Check a bright scene and a dark scene. Television overscan can hide text near an edge; the display’s picture-fit setting may help. Read the picture-quality guide for other display issues, or choose something from Korean movies.
